Happy New Year's Eve!
Unbelievable that it's the last day of the year. I feel like I have been on vacation this week (much needed after Christmas Cookies) with my slacker posts. Indeed, it's much easier to post round-up's and articles about reading and summing the year up. I was going to post this yesterday, but alas, it was my birthday friends! Yep, this ol' girl turned 29 again... Or maybe a little more than that. Haha.
It was a great day. I woke up (late, after sleeping in), had a couple cups of coffee, did about an hour of yoga, talked to my mom, my dad, my brother, and in general, took it easy. I made myself a birthday cake on Tuesday, so the hubby and I had that to look forward to. A Salted Caramel Chocolate Chip Cheesecake, that is. Yes, it was as decadent as it sounds. And yes, it was knock-your-socks-off delicious. Recipe to follow soon. But before the cheesecake, the hubby took me to dinner a local winery. I say local, but it was about 45 minutes away, up the Ohio River towards Cincinnati. I'd never followed the river that far, so it was a fascinating drive. When we arrived at the winery, we discovered it's right on the river. The view from their restaurant was gorgeous. The hubby and I can't wait to go back when the weather is nicer. The food was excellent, really top notch for this area. We were so pleasantly surprised. We bought a bottle of wine, the hubby had a gorgeous rib-eye and I had an amazing Halibut and Shrimp Oscar. I mean, wow. We loved it.
As always after my birthday, it's now New Years Eve. We don't have any plans, and we love that. It's my favorite holiday to go to bed early on :) Haha. Tomorrow I'll be sharing 2015: By The Numbers (just like my post last year, 2014: By The Numbers), but today, let's talk about the most popular recipes of 2015. I thought it was a pretty diverse lineup of soups, treats, Tex-mex wonderfulness, and a little bit of alcohol. Let's dive right in!

You're so young looking for 29. Apparently the water out your way is descended from the famous Fountain of Youth in Florida! Congratulations on being our tax deduction in whatever year it was you were born. :-)
