Settlin' In

Boy, it was a hard weekend. As many of you know, we moved. Friday was the longest day ever. The hubby and I picked up the U-Haul at 9 am, and promptly returned to the house and began loading boxes. Once all the boxes were packed, we loaded all the stuff we couldn't put in boxes. It was then time for the furniture that the two of us were able to lift. It was 12 pm by this time, and the hubby called his brother-in-law to come help with the heavy lifting. We had our first U-Haul load packed by 1 pm after the BIL showed up to help. We headed down the road (30 miles) to where we are living now which is the hubby's aunt's house. It's right next to our property, and the future house. It took us 2 hours to unload the first load.

It was at this time that we had to head back to the rental to get the rest of the big furniture. We got back there around 4 to find the air-conditioning had froze and the interior was 83 degrees. We were all so tired and miserable, the heat just made it 10 times worse. We finished with the big furniture around 7 and made it back to the property again about 7:30. 1 hour later, the furniture was unloaded and we.were.dead.

The hubby's aunt had fixed us a feast, and thank goodness too. I haven't ate that much in a long time!

You would think this is the end of the story, but the hubby and I had to return to the rental on Saturday to make repairs, mow the lawn, and clean the house. What we thought would take us an hour, took us about 4 hours. My body hurt so bad at the end of all this, I still hurt today! On the plus side, I've slept fantastically!

When it's all said and done though, the hubby and I are pretty settled in. I've got some unpacking and organizing still to do today, but we never, ever have to see that rental again. I've been doing jumping jacks of joy for this.

The boys are loving country life, Haloti runs like a crazy man out here, exhausts himself, and then collapses in the grass.

Move out to the country, cuz that's where I wanna be!

What a goofy dog!

Gizmo loves it here too. He is still exploring, loves to wander, but instead of collapsing on the grass, Gizmo suns himself on the concrete.

Needless to say, the dogs are exhausted by the end of the day and just want to cuddle :)

I'm loving being out of the rental, and the hubby's aunt's home is immaculate, but I am looking forward to getting into our new home. Just a couple more months!
