25 Cake & Cupcake Recipes

Oh, Saturday morning. How I love thee. I woke up rather lazily today, with one well-behaved chihuahua at my side and a not-so-well-behaved one deciding to sit on my chest and lick my face. Face Licker had decided it was time to get up. Face Licker being Mariota, that is 😂

I shuffled my way to the Keurig and made a cup of coffee, admiring the view out the window whilst the coffee brewed. It rained last night, which makes me happy. That saves an hour of yard work. I also noted the bird feeders were quite full. It never fails that there is lull in bird activity every summer. The hawks have been staking out the yard fairly aggressively which every year has meant the birds leave for a little while. They'll be back. But that was another chore that didn't need to be done.

It was a great morning. All I had to do was fill the bee waterers with fresh water and pick some strawberries. I honestly thought the strawberries would be spent by now, but they are really showing no signs of stopping. I'm thinking I'm going to be picking fresh berries every day until the first frost. Which, of course, is fine by me.

Normally I love working out in the yard. However, Saturday's in the fall are ALWAYS reserved for college football. And boy, do I have a treat today! The Duck's are playing on ABC at 3:30!! I am so stinking excited! I feel like ever since I moved to Kentucky, the Duck's have had night schedules. I'm not one for starting a football game at 10:30 at night, which a majority of our games have been televised at here on the ol' East Coast. I hate it. But not today! Oh no, I'll be parked on the couch in my Duck gear, enjoying some refreshments of the hoppy variety. That's beer for those not in the know 🍻😁

Since I'm so excited about college football, I decided to take it easy today and post a round-up. I don't know about you, but I am rapidly approaching another birthday season with the hubby's family. The hubby and I always laugh because there are a great number of babies born in his family around the first of October. In our minds, this equates to New Year's Eve being the most highly celebrated holiday in his family 😂 I suspect this may be the case for a lot of families. So, for those of you heading into cake-baking time, here's 25 cake and cupcake ideas to give your loved ones delightful sugar highs-

Do you still have hummingbirds? My feeder sure isn't going down, but seems a little early for them to be gone already.
