Oreo-Reese's Peanut Butter Truffles

I've got another no-bake treat for everyone today. Partly because the weather has not been conducive this week and I haven't been able to take a lot of pictures, but also partly just because. Just because it's Friday. Just because chocolate and peanut butter are one of my favorite combinations. Just because it's 8 o'clock in the morning, and I can have peanut butter and chocolate with my coffee if I want to. Talk about starting the weekend off on the right foot! :)

I do realize this is my second Oreo treat of the month, and normally I would be against that. However, today's post was supposed to be on Watermelon Kiwi Ice Pops. I knew it was not meant to be when I had gotten my photo shoot all set up yesterday but had taken nary a picture when an enormous black cloud decided to park itself above the house. Black cloud over the house = unusable pictures. I've had this post tucked away for a rainy day, just in case I needed it. Which I was hoping would be a couple of months from now. No such luck. That's ok, I figured. Everyone loves Oreo's, peanut butter, and no bakes, right?

This is hardly a recipe. Again, these no bakes only require 3 ingredients. They take 15 minutes to make. And yet, they are freakin' delicious. You won't be able to stop popping them. All you need is a package of Peanut Butter Oreo's, half a block of cream cheese, and some chocolate melting candy. Oh, and sprinkles if you prefer. I definitely prefer.

I do have one piece of advice. When making these, it's definitely crucial to place the newly dipped truffles on a piece of parchment paper. These have become so common place to me that I just make them without thinking. Or glancing at the recipe beforehand. Thus, I absentmindedly placed my freshly dipped truffles directly on the cookie sheet. This resulted in me spending 20 minutes using a knife to pry the truffles off the cookie sheet. All was well, but if you put parchment paper down, these truffles just magically lift off the parchment paper. No sticking, no prying, no cutting. Trust me, the parchment paper is well worth it.

Oh, and one more thing- Make sure you have milk in the house when you decide to indulge in these! You can try and eat these without milk, but something tells me you'll seriously regret not having a nice, cold, tall one next you. Like chocolate chip cookies, these are milk's best friend. I speak from experience :)

Well friends, we are on the cusp of another weekend. Another weekend the hubby is going to work straight through. Boo. I've got a Farmer's Market date tomorrow morning with one go my girlfriends that I'm excited for. Other than that, it's supposed to be stormy all weekend which is leaving me chagrined to the state of my photography. Argh, I need some natural afternoon light! I've got popsicles, cookies, and not too mention, some main dishes I need to photograph. It's times like these I wish I had a photography light. All in due time, I suppose.

Does anyone else (speaking to fellow bloggers out there) have those days where, for the life of you, you cannot think of a single thing to discuss? Goodness, that's me today. I guess it's a writer's block type of day. With that, I'll bid you adieu

Have a great weekend everyone!

Ingredients:

1 package (12.2 oz) Reese's Peanut Butter Oreo's
4 oz cream cheese
1 package (16 oz) chocolate candy coating
sprinkles (optional)

Directions:

1. In a food processor, pulse Oreo's until they resemble a coarse crumb.
2. Add cream cheese to food processor. Pulse until mixture becomes a large ball of dough.
3. Using a 1 tbsp cookie scoop, roll dough into balls. Place balls on a cookie sheet.
4. Melt candy coating according to package directions. Using a skewer, dip balls into candy coating. Place on a piece of parchment paper to harden up. Dust with sprinkles before candy coating dries.
5. Allow to dry completely before storage. Store in an airtight container.
