Buffalo Ranch Popcorn

The hubby loves his popcorn.

I've had this recipe under my hat for a while now. Like a "couple of years" long time. So when the hubby suggested during my family's visit that we have his friends over for appetizers and wine, I immediately thought of this. Popcorn is one of those perfect things you can put out on the counter, and people can snack on it the rest of the night. Without worrying about it going bad, or its temperature.

I enlisted the hubby to help me make the popcorn, and his first question was, "How do you get the sauce on without the popcorn shriveling up?". Good question. I first thought we could just drizzle the sauce over the popcorn and immediately toss. Not the best idea. The popcorn will shrivel. After trial and error, the hubby and I found the best technique was to take a basting brush, brush the sauce a smidge at a time on to the popcorn, toss, and repeat until the sauce is gone. This resulted in perfectly seasoned and coated, non-shriveled popcorn.

If you like buffalo sauce, you'll love this spicy, salty snack :)

Ingredients:

8 cups popped popcorn
1 packet dried ranch dressing seasoning
2 tbsp buffalo sauce
2 tbsp melted butter

Directions:

1. Place popped popcorn into a large bowl. Sprinkle ranch seasoning over popcorn and toss well.
2. Combine buffalo sauce and melted butter, stir until well combined. Take a basting brush and brush a little bit of sauce onto the popcorn. Toss to combine. Repeat until the sauce is gone.
3. Serve immediately!

  2. This is some good s**t! I'm experimenting with some Asigo cheese to reduce the mystery preservatives in the Ranch Dressing. Will share my results - good or bad.

    1. Well, you know Jerame. He doesn't mind his mystery preservatives, in fact he works hard to keep the bad stuff in his life :) I introduced him to kale last night, unfortunately it will probably be their one and only date.
