Happy Wednesday!

I'm going on my 3rd day of not leaving the house. We are currently buried under 6-7 inches of snow. The roads are snow-covered and icy, and the hubby hasn't even been driving his car. His car has been parked at his office all week, because thankfully, his boss gave him a huge 4-wheel drive truck to tackle the weather with.

Happy almost Valentine's Day!

I think I've mentioned in years past that the hubby and I don't really celebrate Valentine's Day. I mean, he doesn't buy me flowers and chocolate, and we don't go out on this holiday. Valentine's Day is one of the worst holidays to go out for.

This dish is a lesson in simplicity folks.

There isn't much to this recipe. Olive oil, crushed red pepper, garlic, broccoli, pasta, and parmesan cheese. That's it. That's all you need. Somehow, someway this dish never fails to come together and send me into pasta overdrive.

Question: What better way to celebrate the beginning of your weekend than with a deep dish cookie perfectly proportioned for one?

Answer: There is none. 

I'm getting to be somewhat of an expert in single-serving desserts. What can I say? Late at night, when the hubby is away at work, the cravings for cookies start.

It's hard to find a person who doesn't like chicken fingers and fries. I mean, really. I'm sitting here, racking my brain, trying to think of someone, anyone I've ever met that doesn't like the combination. It's almost like it's in American DNA to crave those deep-fried, crunchy strips of goodness that we dip into every kind of sauce under the sun.

Happy Monday! Hungover from that stinker of a Superbowl? I'm not happy that the Patriots won. My motto is always, "Anyone but the Patriots". I can't stand Bill Belichick. I can't stand Tom Brady. I can't stand Tom Brady's wife and the way she lords their success over, well, everyone. There are better people out there, humble people, more deserving of such an honor. C'est la vie.

Happy Superbowl Sunday everyone!

Oh, how I love Superbowl Sunday. It truly is a holiday for me and the hubby. We make hot wings, drink beer, snack on chips and salsa, and oh yeah, watch some football. Our holiday is going to be cut short this year, as the hubby has to work, but we are still making wings. I can't wait.
